STUDENT PROJECT DONE!
We are coming to the end of our technology class and I must admit I have learned a great deal but also realized how much I really did not know about the world of technology. My sons helped me out by being my "class". What a great job they did! Individual meetings are this week and a final accounting of what needs to be done to complete the class. Three months sure have flown by!

Finishing Projects!
Only a few weeks left in class and now it is time to finish projects! After writing a lesson plan for my students' glogster page, I am finally ready to implement the final taping and write-up. They will be demonstrating a marbled paper project. Ready, set, marble!!

Project To Be Completed With My Students
One of my main objectives to complete within the next two weeks was to have two of my students complete the assignment that I turned in last week. Unfortunately, after sending an email to potential students, I have received no replies for participation. I have talked my own children, one of whom I still teach, into completing the assignment. I was disappointed in that I really wanted some of my art students to work on this "Art" assignment. After teaching my own children for the past eleven years, I know they will do an excellent job!

YOUTUBE! HOW EASY IS THAT!
Tonight, I learned something that has been at my fingertips all the time. Youtube Videos!! How cool is it that I can upload directly from my phone! We were given a new project also. I am very anxious to start!! Hopefully, all will turn out well, with no glitches. Fingers crossed and poised on the keyboard, here I go again!

HANGOUTS AND THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM
Flipped Classroom!! This is going to be so much fun. Tonight, we talked about the flipped classroom and how we could use it to help our students. I think this would work wonderfully in my art classroom because of our short time in class. Usually I spend the first 10 to 15 minutes explaining background, procedures, etc. The flipped classroom can possibly cut this time in half or even eliminate this time....giving more time to creating ART!! Can not wait to start next week!

Social Media/Google
Once again, my classroom experience was dampened by the inability to connect to internet for most of the class. Luckily, my phone gave me access to some parts of the exercises. I already have some of the accounts that we were required to join, so I am not too far behind. Frustration often sets in when I am unable to follow the instructor on my or the school provided equipment. It is kind of like going to a math class without a pencil to work problems or a literature class without a copy of the story. Oh well....., it will work out!

OH WHOA!! EDMODO!
This week was a great deal to digest! Class consisted of taking apart the edmodo site and learning how to set up our students on the site. Boy do I wish I had this tool when we were in Art Appreciation last year!! Quizzes online, artwork, alerts, notes to students.......yes!! I am looking forward to setting up my own students and getting all of the info from my class streamlined!! Excellent class!

The Published Pod!
After much finagling with the equipment, my Podcast is finally published. In fact, I published two! My subject was Art, of course. I published little snip its about Color Theory. I intend to continue with this endeavor and possibly add information about Artists and the history of Art. I do believe that I have found a whole new adventure!

Podcast....It's all about how well you know your equipment!!??
Possibly one of the more complicated class sessions, creating a podcast ultimately seems to rest on how well your equipment is suited for the task. I found that once I locate all of the various device features, I can easily utilize their function. Making a recording on my phone and sending the folder to myself is the simplest way to transfer the information. My one regret is changing the template of the podcast, making it my own, is impossible on the free version. One must use what they give you. The creative part of me has issues with this. Who knows, maybe I will become so well acquainted with podcasting that I will upgrade and develop an amazing podbean site. Just maybe, I have found a new page in my life's book, a hidden talent.......perhaps. Right now, I must develop my first pod site and then we will see.

I has been one week and one day since our last class. In that week's time, I have created a glogster page. What fun!! At first, it was the mechanics of the project that seemed to slow me down. Knowing what I wanted, I set out to create a page that would reflect an event: my 2012 Art Show for my art students. My glog page contained all the requirements for the assignment: video, music, photos, and text. I do wish the snow and ice would slow down so we can continue our class!

Frustration.......Tonight we learned how to create a glogster account, but, unfortunately, I was unable to get past the template page. Knowing that just getting to that point is a success in itself, I do feel as if I have learned a new skill. I tried on my phone, my IPad, and on the school's computer but alas....no luck at all. Watch for later blogs on this........will I complete the glog? will I be able to add pictures, videos, etc.? Will have to see.............

Remembering What I have Learned
Two weeks have passed since we learned how to set up a blog. I must admit, it took awhile for me to remember exactly how to get to this particular spot to continue with my blog. Luckily, I had written down how we created our blogs....found I left out a few steps.
I am looking forward to learning more and developing some amazing technological skills within the next 14 weeks!

Oh YAY!! I have learned something new and this always makes me happy!! Today, in my technology class, I learned how to create a blog. We started by learning how to set up a Google account, which I knew a little about, and how to navigate around the site. Next, we learned about blogging. I am a novice so please be patient with me as I dive into these very murky waters. I understand that there may be some sharks in the water!! Here I go.......................
